In general the the New York State museum is a place that provides an insight into history and culture. It is a place where you can learn about different cultures and people around New York State. it also houses the state library which is great for anyone who wants to learn more anout the state that the museum may not cover.
What sets the museum apart is that its one of the largest in the state, five stories high. it houses the state library and its a great place to go to if you are into geaniology. it is also a fairly new building. its only about 33 years old compared to a lot of the museums around the country.
